Picture
HENRI -  the 1st adoption from Spain for us.  He was found close to death having been dumped on the streets and for a while it was touch and go as to whether he would survive.  He was adopted by Theresa and is now having to suffer the extreme temperatures of North East Scotland!  His best friend is a 7 year old Sharpei and the pair of them are affectionately referred to as “George and Mildred”!!

Picture
FRED -July 2013  not a frenchie we know but a super English bully who had been abandoned in Spain and was severely underweight - we knew we had to help to rehome him.  He now spends his days as a local celebrity on the South Coast in his forever home and can often be spotted sporting a life jacket whilst on his regular sailing trips

Picture
BEBE - August 2013 again a Spanish rescue and a very clever active boy who had been taught lots of tricks by his previous owner.  Bebe is now in a wonderful family home, keeping everyone amused with his antics

Picture
FRANK -  a UK referral. He is now living life to the max with Mel & Sam.  He can quite often be found at weekend enjoying the beaches they visit watching them surfing the waves then its back to the camper van for snuggles in the evening, what a life !

Picture
ROCKY - a young dog of around 18 months, Rocky was handed to a local vet in Spain by his ex-owners as they no longer wanted him.   A lovely boy with a zest for life (and sleeping !) who was adopted into a loving family home where he is the centre of attention

Picture
FRANK -was a UK referral. His owner was not capable to look after frank due to a long term illness. He was placed into foster home with Rachel and her family . Unfortunately Frank has ongoing expensive health issues which makes him unsuitable for re-homing and Rachel is lucky enough to be able to get reduced costs treatment for him through her employment at a vets.

Picture
SABRINA - a little Frenchie cross who was abandoned as a young puppy in Spain and was luckily handed into rescue.  Sabrina was adopted by a wonderful family with children who fell for her as soon as they saw her picture.

Picture
BUBBLES - December 2013 a UK referral, Bubbles came from a home where unfortunately she was being picked on by the other resident dog and hence a sad decision was made to find her a new home.  Lucky for Bubbles she has really landed on her paws with her adopter and we are kept regularly updated with lots of pics – mainly of her sleeping!

HARRY - February 2014 a Spanish rescue,
Harry suffers with poor eyesight due to a lack of attention from his previous owners – he will eventually go blind.
He has been very lucky to have been adopted by a lovely lady Tina who looks after special need adults.
She lives in a bungalow so Harry will have time to adapt to his new surroundings without the dangers of stairs before he loses his sight.

Picture
FERGUS - February 2014 Fergus was in foster with Franco (see right) both were abandoned in the shelter in Spain with no history as to why they were dumped. Both boys have had “cherry eye” operations (a common ailment affecting the eyes in bull breeds) He was very underweight when he arrived as most of them are from Spain but has continued to gain weight. He is now enjoying life with Lyndsay & Warren in his forever home.

" on her her advert and it worked she won the heart of Sharon !. She has gone to her forever home in Devon on the edge of the moors and has new doggy playmates for hours of fun.

Picture
FRANK - UK referral with very demanding issues outside of the house. She now lives with Karen in her forever home who joined the admin team after adopting Kira to help others rescue a needy dog.

Picture
LUCKI - was dreadfully abused by his previous owners. Tracey his adopter has worked incredibly hard with him to gain his trust which has taken several months and he is now doing well settling into family life.

FRED - JULY 2017
Fred was sadly surrendered to us due to the ill health of one of his owners, he was very much loved so they wanted to ensure he would be placed in the very best home possible.  Fred has little issues just very wary of other dogs getting too closed in public spaces.

He has been rehomed to Sian and her family in Wrexham,  they have a wealth of rescue experience and have also had a french bulldog in the past . They have the time to help Fred with his anxiety towards other dogs.

DARCY - JANUARY 2018

She was surrendered to us having blinded one of other dogs in the household during a fight over food . The family decided that she needed more training than they could give her, when she came into foster she went straight into season which meant we had to wait to neuter her as no dogs leave our rescue until this is done. Then when we waited the required time it was discovered on the day of the op that she was having a phantom pregnancy so again we had a little period to wait . She has now gone to her new home with Tess and Kazz in Devon where she will have the ongoing training that she needs as her manners still need working on but they have the experience and time to do this for her.

Picture
BRUCE - APRIL 2018

Bruce was surrendered to us due to a marriage break up, he has had to spend over two months in foster to learn to be a dog again and to de-stress , he still has some issues but they will continue to be worked on by the adopters.

He has gone to live with Sonia and Paul where he has been for the past four months with no issues at all so he has the very home he needs

Picture
BENSON - MAY 2018

Benson was returned to the rescue having been adopted originally in September 2015.
He was returned as they were unable to get him allergies under control, there was a potential issue with his leg which there insurance would not cover and with a new baby it was all too much.
He has thrived in foster , loosing a huge amount of weight which has taken the pressure of his leg and having had a course of hydro sessions (picture taken with his ball for company in the hydro session ! ) he has had no issues with his leg since.
His diet was stripped back and his food changed as although he was on a hypoallergenic one advised by the vet it wasn't grain free. He has now been off his allergy medication for three months with no flair ups at all which is fantastic news.
His new owners originally saw him up for adoption in 2015 but as they owned another dog at that time they were not eligible to attend. So now Matt & Pam have the dog they always wanted which is just fantastic news for Benson

TAMONE - JUNE 2018

This handsome boy was surrendered to us by another rescue as they felt we had the right applicants who would love to give this British x French Bulldog his forever home ! And we did just that ! He has gone to his new home with Elaine and family who's son and two french bulldogs live just next door so Tamone has ready made playmates which he will adore. He could play all day if he could and is a very loveable OAF according to his fosterer ! ha ha

Picture
MADDISON - AUGUST 2018

She was surrendered to the rescue due to a family move and also for fighting with the other dog in the household so it was felt that she would be happier being the only dog. Maddison quickly showed that she hated cats and not keen on other dogs out & about and despite lots of work on this during the foster period it has not really improved ! ha ha But she has gone off to her forever home with Chris and his family who have previously owned a fear aggressive dog so understand her needs and that she will never be a dog to take in high volume dog walking areas.

Picture
ETHEL - OCTOBER 2018

Ethel was surrendered to us by her owners after a period of time where they had tried all the options available to them. They were told not the truth by her previous owners and quickly found out that she was not good with dogs outside of the house and was not socialised. She was also very unsure of visitors and with a young child this was causing problems then unfortunately she killed a feathered pet in the property after knocking it out of its cage so they decided they needed to rehome her. She has had a long period in foster where the foster family have worked very hard on her basic training which will need to be continued in her forever home , Sue & Dave are well aware of this and will ensure she gets all of the care and training she needs

Picture
 MARCEL - OCTOBER 2018

Marcel was surrendered to us due to a marriage breakup and it was felt that with him being left for long periods of time it was not fair along with the issues of his allergies and costs involved.
Marcel is lively boy but was being restricted by issues with his pallet so the rescue paid for this procedure along with a contribution by his ex owner. He can now recuperate then get back onto his exercise regime and loss some of the weight he has gained. He has become a great friend to the his adopted family's young son who Marcel follows around all of the time.

Picture

KEO - FEBRUARY 2019
He was surrendered to the due to him being overprotective of the family which was resulting in aggressive behaviour to the family and friends who visited the home. Keo has spent three months in his foster home and he has come along way but still does not appreciate people coming into his territory. So we advertised that he needed to live with a single person who did not have frequent visitors, which we thought was a big ask but we were inundated with applications that fitted the criteria.  So Keo is off to a life on the coast with Ronnie who works from home so he will have the company he craves but on a one on one basis.

NERO - MARCH 2019

Nero has been with us since September 2017  he came in very overweight and with an issue with other dogs. After an diet and exercise regime it was discovered he had an hernia which was operated on successfully in November BUT a week later at 9.30pm on a Wednesday night his back legs suddenly weren't working, so he was taken straight to the local vets. He was worse during the short distance to the vets who gave us the options of referral to a specialist, stay at the vets with drugs to see what happened which they didn't really recommend or putting him to sleep! We made the decision to go for the referral as he is so young at 2 years old and had been a fighter with the previous operation. So, the fosterer rushed him through the night to the specialists who immediately started to process bloods etc, he had a CT scan the next morning and was operated on that morning as the scan showed two discs had blown. We had the money to pay for the operation which went well but he also has issues with severe arthritis in his back legs for which there is no operation recommended due to all of his other conditions. In March 10th 2018 he went to a long term foster family and having been part of their family for a year they have now decided to adopt him formally and we will be there to support them as we do with everyone one of rescue dogs for life. .
Picture
OZ - APRIL 2019
Handsome boy OZ was sadly returned to us due to no fault of his own when him being at his owners work place did not work out and there was no plan B.  So he has now been adopted by Claire and Russ where he has 4 other doggy playmates in the house who he loves . Living on the coast he has beautiful beaches to go walking on and where he enjoys making new doggy friends. He is such a loveable boy and makes friends everywhere he goes, he has proved a big hit with Claire's clients whenever she takes him to work.
Picture
NELLIE - JULY 2019

Nellie came into the rescue as her elderly owners could not cope with her behaviour outside of the home due to their ill health. It was a very sad situation for them as they loved her very much but they knew she needed to be a home with experienced bull breed owners who could deal with her behaviour and her allergies.  She has gone to a fab home with Jo & her Fiancé & more importantly their french bulldog Tayto who also suffers with allergies.

REG -  SEPTEMBER 2019
Reg was surrendered to us reluctantly due to a family illness and they had so little time to devote to Reg so they decided the best thing to do was to surrender hi to a rescue where we would find the best home for him.  Reg was adopted by Phil were he will be with him every day as he owns his own business. Phil's son has a Frenchie too so Reg will have a playmate when he has settled in.

Picture

TILLY - DECEMBER 2019
Tilly was surrendered to us by her owners as she was not getting on with the other dogs in the house . This was partially due to her being totally blind so was just nervous having other animals near her.     You would never know she is blind as she potters about very happily .

After putting her onto a suitable diet , sorting out some ear issues she has been a perfect little foster dog who will be missed by her foster family.
Tilly is going to be with Zoe where she will be the only dog and where she will have company every day which is what this sweet little lady deserves.

Picture
MORSE (formally known as Hugo)  MARCH 2020
Morse was handed over to us by a vets in February, he had been taken into the vets to be PTS by his owners claiming he had aggression . The vets were not happy with the explanation and asked the owners to sign him over to them,  on being signed over it was discovered he was suffering with Giardia which is an intestinal tract infection caused by the giardia parasite that affects mammals such as humans, dogs, and cats.   Giardiasis affects the small intestine and often diarrhoea is a major symptom of the infection. This is because the giardia parasite effectively takes over the intestinal wall, leading to an inability of the small intestine to function. So after several weeks of treatment he came into foster where it became apparent that he did not have any aggression issues and got on with other dogs in the home etc.

As we are a small rescue we do have a waiting list of amazing potential adoptors who have been home checked and passed our interview process.  One of our trustees have owned bulldogs for years had been patiently waiting for a male dog who was okay to be living with other dogs. As you can imagine they are like gold dust in rescue as most dogs are surrendered due to issues living with other dogs in the household or for medical reasons. They have been waiting for the right dog not a "quick fix" as they understand its about the dogs needs not their own !!

So Morse has gone off to live in his new home with another Frenchie and Pug who enjoy their own private woods to run around in daily as well as fab local walking areas.   Unfortunately we will have to have him reassessed at another vets as he was not able to be signed off by the fosterers vet but as a rescue we will of course complete the treatment cycle and ensure he has everything he needs going forward.

Picture

Buddy was surrendered to us for fighting with the other dogs in the house. When he arrived in foster he was very underweight and it was discovered he had massive desperation anxiety which means he cannot be left alone at all . He was also not toilet trained and when under stress this would be even more prevalent. His fosterer Julie did an amazing job with him and he has come on a long way but he will always be a complex dog and Mark & Natasha his new owners know they will be on a long journey with him but are prepared to put in the hard work

Picture

BOSUN - SEPTEMBER 2017 He was surrendered for his dog aggression and was too much for the young family to cope with. He went into foster with Cathie who has been fostering for us for over three years who has fallen completely for him so he is staying with her on her small holding where he has the space he needs ! he is larger than life in both personality & statue !! more the size of a staffie than a frenchi !! ha ha. (N.B we don't allow fosterers to adopt in the first year !) And we are very pleased that Cathie is going to continue to foster for us in the future as well.

Picture

Picture
ENZO - APRIL 2018

Enzo was surrendered to us due to his lack of socialisation with other dogs and his separation anxiety all of which has not been explained to the owners when they had purchased him 6 months before hand

Enzo is only one years old so only just out of his puppy stage , his new family Stephen and Sarah are around during the day & can continue with the training around his separation issues & socialisation. The family have applied for several dogs just getting pipped at the final hurdle so just shows that it pays to hang in there and to keep on applying if you really want to rescue.

Picture

LENNIE-  MAY 2018
He was surrendered to us as despite the owners doing what they could with him, he needed more time than they had to work on his separation anxiety, being deaf, not liking visitors to the home etc. The foster family Claire & Russ have put alot of work into understanding this little fella and consequently fell in love with him. They have been fostering for us for a long time so they have committed to taking him on and still to foster for us in the future so he will be able to help other rescues settle in their foster home before being adopted.

Picture
CROSBY - AUGUST 2018

Crosby has been on a huge journey with us having come to us via a vets in February with a broken leg when his owners refused to pay for his treatment.  At only 4 months old he had to endure 10 weeks of crate rest to let his leg mend after we paid a contribution towards the operation. Since then he has come on in leaps and bounds taking some training as he missed out on some important growing up time.   He has now gone off to his forever home with frenchie older brother Bowie, and owners Rae& Steve who live on the south coast so he will be having fun everyday on the beach

Picture

FINNEGAN - SEPTEMBER 2018

Finnegan was surrendered as he had been suffering with anxiety/separation anxiety for the last 12/18 months or so .He was aggressive to other dogs -barks, growls, pulls on lead but does not/has not bitten. He also would not tolerate visitors to the house so they thought he needed to be surrendered so that experienced fosterers could work with his issues.  He has been rehomed to Joleigh and her partner who have really taken on board the issues he has for which he has come on in leaps and bounds within the foster period but do understand that this work needs to continue and to allow him to be a dog not a dog who will ever be a lap dog.

Picture

IZI - OCTOBER 2018

Picture

He has gone to live on the coast with Claire and family so will enjoy the rest of his live in settled environment

Picture
RUSTY -  MARCH 2019

Rusty was surrendered to us as she was not suited to living on remote small holding where she had been "playing" with the livestock !  She saw then as moving toys which is obviously not ideal in that situation! She had no recall and they felt it was not safe to keep her in that environment.

She came into foster and has been a perfect dog from day one,  loving all the attention of being the only dog.

Getting her used to traffic noise etc has been work in progress as it was all new to her having come from a rural location.

She will get all she needs now being the only dog in the family and will be enjoying life in her forever home with Nikki & Damian in Oxfordshire.

LUNA -  MAY 2019

Beautiful Luna came to us just after Christmas having spent majority of her young life suffering with an upset stomach. Despite numerous visits to the vets nothing had changed .    She was fine for the first couple of weeks then ended up at the vets on an IV drip for a week having lots of medication and finally we managed to put an end to her issues .  Luna has spent over 4 months in foster with us and has missed out lots of her early puppy stages .   She is off to a new home with the  .FBRGB Maddison and her family which is a great outcome for this little lady.
Picture
NARLA -  AUGUST 2019
Narla came into us as she was not getting on with the other dogs in the household following a head injury. Picture
COCO - OCTOBER 2019
Coco is two & a half years old and has already had two homes. Before coming into foster care she had become anxious & snappy with her family & ; other dogs, she had also become quite overweight  developed some health problems including breathing difficulties & skin rashes.

With lots of regular exercise she has lost weight and with a strict diet her allergies are now under control and she is no longer being anxious around animals .  She is going off to her new family on their small holding where Anne & Family will give her the one on one attention she craves.

Picture
PEPPER -  FEBRUARY 2020
Pepper was a very sad surrender after many of months of work with us she was just not able to get on with the other bitch that lived in the house so the decision was made to surrender the easier of the two dogs to us so we could find her a new home. She spent three months in foster relearning some manners and allowing us to work out the best environment for her to live in .
So Pepper is going to be a city girl living in London with Bea & Family and she will have Frenchie Frank as her play mate as she gets on with male dogs well aside from the odd bully grumble ! ha ha

Picture
BLUE -  APRIL 2020 ( HOWEVER NOT MOVING TO NEW HOMEUNTIL LOCKDOWN IS LIFTED)

.Blue was surrendered to the rescue due to a medical condition of the owner,  it was a very sad surrender but they knew that giving him up to the rescue would ensure that we would find his forever home for him.

He has obviously been a very loved little dog and came to us with a big bed, clothes, toys and treats. He’s a polite boy who sits, gives his paw and waits if told to. He likes to sit on the sofa with you but will bark at you to ask permission first.

When he first arrived, he did some marking around the house but since then has stood by the back door when he’s needed to go to the toilet.

When we have left the house, he has been given the run and there have been no problems / chewing etc... He has played happily with the other bulldogs in the house and outside in the garden. He also loves to go on walks however is quite strong on the lead and pulls a lot.

Picture
BLUE - AUGUST 2020
Blue was Surrendered to the rescue originally due to a medical condition of the owner,  it was a very sad surrender but they knew that giving him up to the rescue would ensure that we would find his forever home for him.  He was adopted out in April and despite being in foster with 4 other dogs and there being no issue he took umbrage with the adopters dog so had to come back into the rescue so he is now being rehomed as an only dog.   Part of the issue we feel in his home was the diet he was on which did not suit him at all and he lost a kilo in just two months so we think he was also very “hangry” at the time too.
He was a dream yet again in the foster period living with two other french bulldogs with no issues and has put on the weight he had lost so great news.
Blue is going to a very experienced bull breed owner Rachel who will treat him as a dog and not baby him which is exactly what he needs and he will having the one on one attention he likes so its a win win situation. We look forward to seeing him on his new adventures.

Picture
FLEUR  JULY 2023

FLEUR was surrendered to us due to her issues with strangers coming into the house and as they had a small child they knew that with her friends coming over it was only going to carrying on winding Fleur up as time went on. She is a beautiful and affectionate dog who loves nothing more than to snuggle up and be warm and cosy. She loves going out for walks and playing in the house with her toys and her humans.

She shares the home with two British bulldogs who she loves to play with and its great to see how far she has come along, she also adores the adopters daughter which is fab for her to be able to trust humans again
